Yesterday, Microsoft released a new version of Windows 10. Eager to test out the new changes, users have already begun to grab the latest update.
Army Builder and Hero Lab users, if you’ve moved your license to a different computer within the past 120 days, it’s possible that your license reassignment will need to be authorized by our staff after you upgrade to latest version of Windows 10. To make it easier for many users, we ‘ve made it more likely that your reassignment will go through without requiring this authorization. We hope this change will make the license reassignment a smooth process for many of you!
Future Windows 10 Updates
Unfortunately, Windows 10 updates invalidate the criteria that Hero Lab has used for years to determine “what is a unique computer”, which is why you may need to reactivate your license. The good news is that we have a solution for this which is currently in testing – we want to make sure it’s bulletproof before rolling it out. Once this change is made, this problem shouldn’t occur in the future. We’re hoping to release this change to users sometime in January, assuming we don’t run into any problems.
Getting Ready for Game Day
Despite the changes we’ve made in the meantime to address this latest release, it’s still possible that you’ll need an authorization from our staff. With this in mind, we recommend that you and any other users launch Hero Lab before the game, to make sure you don’t need to reactivate your license before using the product.
Also, please keep in mind that while our support staff tries to get license reassignment requests processed as soon as they can, it may take 2-3 business days to process your request. We’ll be working hard to get everyone’s license reassignment squared away as quickly as we can.
