Customizable Roster Output for Army Builder

We're hard at work on Army Builder 3.3, and this month we've been putting the finishing touches on one of our most-requested features - Customizable Roster Output. Since this is something many of you are looking forward to using, we thought you'd like a peek at what you can accomplish.

In addition to the standard printed output in AB3.3, you'll be able to create your own customized output files that display your roster data however you want. Anyone with a little experience writing web pages will be able to create their own output sheets, and we'll be including several as examples to get you started.

Here's one of the sheets that we've been working on, which offers a radically different view of a roster - a 3x3 fixed-size grid of units on each page. Sergeants, troop transports and wargear are displayed under the main unit stats in a compact, yet uncluttered, format.

We'll be including this, and other examples, with Army Builder 3.3 for you to use as a basis for your own customized output sheets. Want to know more about Army Builder 3.3? Check out our July Newsletter, where we list the new features to be released in that version.

Keep an eye on future newsletters for more information about Army Builder 3.3!

What is Realm Works?

For nearly two years, we've been quietly working on Realm Works, one of the new products that we previewed at Gen Con this year. We plan to release more in-depth information next month, but for now we'd like to talk about how Realm Works is going to help your gaming group.

Realm Works will facilitate campaign creation and evolution, while at the same time encouraging story development and evolution. We'll provide story visualization in order to organize key story elements and events, streamline game session preparation, enable GMs to easily share created content with their players and to engage players into discussions of the game.

At its core, Realm Works is a collaborative tool for the creation, ongoing evolution, and sharing of campaign content. It's tailored first and foremost for GMs, but the dissemination of content to players and even contributions BY players represent an integral part of the overall product concept. Realm Works' basic features include:

  • Brainstorm new ideas and revise content as quickly and easily as typing into your favorite word processor
  • Organize content in a variety of complimentary ways, making it easy to manage game content in an intuitive manner
  • Manage rich content of diverse types, including text, images, maps, audio, video, character portfolios, etc.
  • Access content on-demand during play, having your entire world at your fingertips for instant availability
  • Quickly add notes during play, then return later to integrate them at your leisure
  • Readily share select material with players for out-of-game viewing and discussion
  • Bring the computer-assisted streamlining of MMOs to the tabletop gaming experience

That's Realm Works in a nutshell. Over the next couple of months we'll be posting screen shots, more in-depth information, and a ton of information as we start letting all of you know more about our latest product.
