Stay on target… That’s our mantra right now as we close in on the official V1.0 release of Realm Works. Today we’re releasing another update to our Early Access users that contains a hefty number of bug fixes, as well as tweaks addressing various nagging issues that certain users have been encountering. The list of significant bugs that must be fixed before launch (e.g. common crashes, failures to sync, etc.) is dwindling, and we believe we’re rapidly converging on a public V1.0 release. As long as Vader – or his software equivalent – doesn’t show up on our six, things are progressing well. 🙂 Given the frustrations we’ve caused for everyone (ourselves included) by mistakenly thinking we were closer to release than was actually the case, we’re not going to announce any official dates for Realm Works’ release. The last thing we need is another missed target date. However, we can safely say that there is a light visible at the end of the tunnel and it sure doesn’t look like an oncoming train. Open issues are steadily being resolved and only a small number of new bugs are being reported by users. At this point, we plan at least one more bug fix release for our Early Access users prior to the official V1.0 release – there could be multiple depending on any new bug reports that come in. Once we’re able to verify that all the significant issues are properly resolved for users, we’ll green-light a public release and let everyone know to come and get it. When we reach that critical point, we’ll put out a special edition of this newsletter to announce Realm Works V1.0 to all our avid followers, plus we’ll also be spreading the word through Facebook, Twitter, and numerous other outlets. So stay tuned for the announcement! Before closing, we’d like to acknowledge everyone’s patience and support while we’ve worked through a variety of setbacks and delays. A heartfelt “Thank You!” goes out to everyone who has stuck with us through this process, both to our Kickstarter backers who have been invaluable testers for us and to all of you who have been eagerly awaiting Realm Works’ official release. It won’t be much longer… To make sure you get the latest info about the Realm Works release, “Like” Realm Works on Facebook or follow @lonewolfdevel on Twitter for the latest updates from the development team. If you have any questions about Realm Works, please ask them on our forums!
The Lone Wolf team is hoping to bring our popular character creation stations to Origins 2014! With our character creation stations, all Origins attendees will be able to create and edit characters for any game supported by Hero Lab, print them out, and use them at their game sessions. Unfortunately, because most of our staff is based out on the West Coast, it’s not easy for us to get people out to the Midwest to staff the area. That’s where you come in! We’re looking for 4 volunteers to work a total of 32 hours each over the 5 days of the show. Volunteers will get a free event badge, and ¼ hotel cost reimbursement or $60 expenses reimbursement at the show. We need your help to let us attend Origins, so if you want to volunteer and help us make it to the show, please let us know ASAP! To learn more or to apply, check out our website for more information.
Great news for mindbenders everywhere – starting with this month’s release, the Pathfinder data files now support d20’s Psionics rules! You can now add psionic powers, classes with psionic abilities, and psionic races in Hero Lab’s integrated editor. As the Pathfinder game system doesn’t define any psionics-using classes, we won’t be distributing any with the data files, but you’re now able to add and share your own Psionics content to use in your games. Next: You and your party have returned to town from an adventure, and must prepare for the next quest. But how do you spend your time? What do you do? We’re excited to announce that the “Downtime” chapter and all the additional missing content from Ultimate Campaign is now present in our Ultimate Campaign package! You can now use our Ultimate Campaign support to manage your kingdom, army, inn, or simply your character’s backstory. Ultimate Campaign is available as one of our Pathfinder add-on packages for $9.99. Finally, you’ll find a number of other enhancements and a bumper crop of bug fixes included in this month’s update. You can find the full list of the changes on our forums. Keep up with the latest Hero Lab and Pathfinder news by “liking” Hero Lab on Facebook or !
You and your companions have delivered a decisive blow to the cult of Baphomet! Even with this victory, the demon lord has taken the herald of Iomedae hostage. It’s up to you and your party to travel to the Ivory Labyrinth, Bapomet’s Abyssal realm, and survive its many, deadly obstacles to save the goddess of justice and valor’s messenger. Can you make it in time to successfully rescue the herald, or is it already too late for the messenger… and your party? This update for Pathfinder will have everything players need to journey into the Abyss in the newest Adventure Path, “Herald of the Ivory Labyrinth”. We’ve added all the player content from this Adventure Path to the Pathfinder data files as part of this month’s free update, available now! A new add-on for Pathfinder, our Player Companion #14 package, is now available for only $4.99 with this month’s Pathfinder release. The first book in this package is “People of the Sands”, which includes everything you need to equip your character for adventures in the sandy Garund, and new feats and spells to add flavor to characters with a connection to the desert. These items and character options are perfect for use in the upcoming Adventure Path, “Mummy’s Mask”, as well as any story where the players may live or travel through hot and threatening deserts. Prepare your players for the secretive, ominous land of pharaohs and pyramids – Osirion. With a vibrant 8,000-year history and a dozen new monsters, this could be the perfect region to send your players for their next adventure, especially if you want to get away from the Polar Vortex. “Osirion, Legacy of Pharaohs” has joined “Demons Revisited” and “Mythic Realms” in our Campaign Setting #11 package, available now for only $4.99! As always, you can add new packages to your Hero Lab license by going to the License menu within the product and choosing “Purchase Data Package”.
