December 2014 Newsletter

As 2014 draws to a close, we want to thank all of you for making the year a memorable one. With your support, we were able to release Realm Works, implement character creation through Hero Lab for the iPad, and a whole lot more. Thank you! Now, let’s make 2015 even more memorable.

What’s new in December? This month’s highlights include the highly anticipated Realm Works survey including a number of releases for Hero Lab. For additional info, check out our news below:

Realm Works Feature Survey Now Live!

Realm Works-logo_tnCalling all Realm Works users and prospective users! The Realm Works Feature Survey is now live, and we want to hear from you. You have until January 11, 2015 at 11:59 pm PST to take part, so make sure you don’t miss out!

Immediate Future

With Player Edition officially out the door, we’re looking at what’s next for Realm Works. There are certain features that are integral to Realm Works and will be a major upcoming focus, including web-based access and the Content Market. Web-based access will allow players to review content revealed by their GM on any device with internet access, while the Content Market will let GMs purchase and use content made available by both publishers and, eventually, other community members.

These critical features will not be our sole focus, which is why we’re asking you to take the survey.

Goals of the Survey

There will often be times in the development process where some team members are waiting for others to complete tasks before they can proceed, and we have a list of over a thousand options to choose from, compiled from our own internal list and the feature requests on our forums.

We have a list of enhancements and refinements to Realm Works that we consider fundamental to the product and will be focusing on first. However, we have hundreds of features to choose from next. That’s where you come in, as this is your chance to influence what we work on next. We’ve culled down the list significantly, so all you need to do is let us know what features you want to see first!

Taking the Survey

Ready take the survey? Then dive in! You should find everything you need within the survey. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask them on our forums. We’ll post any clarifications in a separate forum thread. And if you wish to lobby for your favorite features, please do so here. Thanks in advance for your participation!

deepmagic“Deep Magic” by Kobold Press has beaten out some heavy-hitters to win the Escapist Award for “Best RPG Supplement of 2014”! We’ve talked about our love for “Deep Magic” before, but now it’s been recognized by Escapist Magazine for the genius that it is. If you’re in either of those systems, this is a can’t-miss book.”
